National Sports Day
MIT Institute of Emerging Science & Technology celebrated National Sports Day on 28 & 29th August 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and faculty members. The celebration aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of sports and physical activities in maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. National Sports Day is celebrated every year on 29th August to commemorate the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, one of India's greatest hockey players. The day highlights the importance of sports in developing physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, leadership, and a positive attitude. As part of the celebration, Dr. Prasad Kulkarni Sir and Tribhuvan Sir guided the students about the importance of sports and regular physical activity. They encouraged students to actively participate in sports and explained how sporting activities contribute to both physical and mental well-being. The sports celebration was inaugurated on the college ground in the presence of Dr. Bhalchandra Waykar and Dr. Nilesh Patil. They addressed and guided the students about the importance of sports in student life. They encouraged students to participate in different sporting activities with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Their valuable guidance motivated the students to understand that sports are not only a source of recreation but also an important part of overall personality development. Benefits of Sports Sports and physical activities provide numerous benefits to students, including: 1.Improves Physical Fitness: Regular sports activities improve strength, stamina, flexibility, and overall physical fitness. 2.Supports Mental Health: Physical activity helps reduce stress, anxiety, and mental fatigue and promotes a positive mood. 3.Develops Discipline: Sports teach students punctuality, regular practice, self-control, and commitment. The National Sports Day celebration at MIT Institute of Emerging Science & Technology was an informative and motivating event.
