Civil Engineering Department Industrial Visit at Bhandardara Dam, Akole
On September 23, 2026, the Civil Engineering Department organized an educational field visit to Bhandardara Dam (Wilson Dam), located in Akole, Ahilyanagar District. Key Highlights of the Visit Structural & Hydraulic Study: Students studied the engineering, design, and structural components of one of India's oldest earthen and masonry dams. Spillway & Reservoir Operations: The technical visit provided practical exposure to reservoir storage management, spillway gate operations, and catchment area analysis. Water Resource Applications: Students observed downstream water distribution systems, irrigation canal layouts, and gravity-fed flow mechanisms in real-world civil engineering applications.
